Spiritual Rest for Spring Break

Woohoo, it’s spring break!!! Many of us are traveling, seeing family and friends, or at least looking forward to some extra sleep over the next several days.

We know all too well that vacations can go by in a flash. But one way to slow down time during spring break is to be intentional about getting rest. The sabbath was established by God in creation and reminds us of the important and holy task of resting from our work. Not only does God invite us to relax, but Jesus promises us that he will take our burdens upon himself and give rest to our souls.

‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’ -Matthew 11:28-30

Congratulations on getting through midterms and whatever other challenges may have come up in your life this semester! May your break be restful and rejuvenating and may you know that God is with you.
